Saba`s African Cuisine in Saskatoon

The best African (Ethiopian) food I've had in Saskatoon. Saba is friendly and can explain or suggest what to order if you ask, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed.

Great food, great flavour, decent service. Portions are small and a little pricey. Love this place.

From reading all the 5 start reviews I thought I'd give this a try. We walked in and there was no one around anywhere to greet us. Very very awkwardly quiet in there, no music, nothing. There was a few African kids there playing on their laptop.It really seemed to me like a run down low end restaurant and they really don't have a very welcoming or presentable environment at all. We just walked out and went elsewhere.

I had a great experience eating at Saba’s African Cuisine. The food was very good and the staff was very informative and kind when we told them we did not know how to eat the traditional food. There was a young relative of the owner that grabbed our empty plates. Very nice family. :)

Awesome food

Delicious Ethiopian food, great injera, Saba doesn't waste any money making the place look or feel like some trendy restaurant, it's more like a community centre, rarely any other paying customers and it's a little unusual how casual it is, but she always seems happy to serve her food and seems to make sure you're happy with the meal. Prices are ok too.

The adage there is no rush in Africa describes Saba, its homely for us Africans..splendid food, well brewed coffee! Will return!

A hole in the wall with AMAZING food. Saba is the sweetest and will often go around adding more to your plate throughout your meal. You won't leave hungry!

African food that is so good.

This is a fantastic place to eat. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff is beyond friendly. It's a unique experience if you've never tried before. I personally enjoyed the white wine, and the egg and chicken sauce!

Delicious spicy food.

The closest taste to real authentic Ethiopian food ... The best I have had since I came to Canada ... there is this home feeling you enjoy when you eat ... I think they can make the Injera(the flat bread you use to eat the food) better

Really delicious food and a very different experience for eating! Be ready to eat with your hands and enjoy the platters!

I highly recommend this place to everyone!! Best food in town and family friendly! The owner is the sweetest person who's food is amazing! For sure will be coming back soon

The food is not only delicious, it is healthy! Saba also is happy to accommodate dietary restrictions.

Okay so normally this place is amazing. Lately it's been closed a lot. Iv been craving it and haven't came here in a while lol

Amazing food & hospitality! Like homemade cooking and even had our coffee beans roasted and fresh coffee made for us! Highly recommend this place.

As soon as we walked in the door we were treated as family. That mixed with fantastic food made for a wonderful experience

Fantastic Food with with warm welcoming service. The staff were more then happy to teach us how to eat the traditional dish.

I love the food here. Great vegan options and airways plenty to eat. Seems to be unlimited injera, so it's impossible to go hungry. Saba is a sweetheart, very friendly and helpful. There is a bit of a wait from ordering to serving, but that's just a sign that the food is being prepared with care.

Superb Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine. Gluten-free readily available.

Amazing food

One of the best places to eat in Saskatoon! The food is fantastic, you will never leave hungry. Keep in mind which ones you liked the most and if you need more food, just let them know, they will bring it out. It is a bit pricey but for how much food you get, you can't go wrong. It is also an experience in itself as you eat with your hands. Vegetarian options are available as well!

Feels like you are sitting in your mom's kitchen eating a family meal. Service isn't quick but the food is great and the staff is friendly. Love it here.

It's been too long since I have been to Saba's. The food is authentic and soooo very tasty. The service is like being at home eating dinner with your family. Hopefully you have a large enough group that they will make their special coffee for you where they roast the beans right in the restaurant. It rocks!

Excellent food. You won't leave hungry. Not a place to go if you are looking for a fast meal. Take your time and enjoy the family experience. Coffee made Sundays or for reserved groups is phenomenal. One of the only places in Saskatoon that I get cravings for.
